
Hanako Duffie
Pianist
Hanako Duffie is a collaborative pianist who has extensive experience performing with instrumentalists and vocalists in a variety of genres and styles. Originally from Southern California, she has worked as a pianist for the University of Redlands Conservatory of Music, First Congregational Church of Riverside, Temecula Valley Master Chorale, and the Choral Arts Initiative. Hanako is currently pursuing a master’s degree in collaborative piano at the University of Maryland, studying with Rita Sloan.
Along with working as a graduate collaborative pianist for the UMD School of Music, she frequently performs with various choral and instrumental ensembles in Washington DC. Hanako has attended collaborative piano festivals where she has studied with renowned pianists such as Martin Katz, Howard Watkins, Ana Maria Otamendi, Alexandra Nguyen, Warren Jones, and Kathy Kelly. Hanako has worked with conductors such as Christopher Gabbitas, Jenny Wong, and Jason Max Ferdinand.
