Mezzo-soprano Rae Shrum is a dynamic performer recognized for her “agile and enticing” voice across concert, choral, and operatic stages. Active throughout Southern California and abroad, she has performed with the Long Beach Camerata Singers, Leipziger Kammerchor, Pacific Opera Project, Roger Wagner Chorale (Japan Tour), Adoro Ensemble, and Pacific Symphony Outreach. Rae spent a formative year in Leipzig, Germany, studying under mezzo-soprano Elvira Dreßen, and continues her training in Los Angeles with Sunjoo Yeo and Reid Bruton.

In addition to performing, she serves as Executive Director of Source/Filter Music, a women-led opera collective creating bold reinterpretations of both new and traditional works, and cofounder of NorthStar Studios, a marketing agency supporting artists and arts organizations. She also shares her love of music with the next generation as an early childhood music educator, joyfully singing, dancing, and exploring sound with children ages 1–4.
